There are some believers who think that we will expend our eternity with the Lord in a cloud playing the harp. But this is far away from what He actually told us during His time on earth. And I‘m going to expend the next series of blogs explaining you why.
“Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”” Acts 1:6 NKJV
As you probably know, after Jesus suffering by many infallible proofs, He presented Himself alive to His disciples. He was seen by them during forty days and spoke of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God (Acts 1:3).
Imagine that you are part of that team and He is telling you, “Ok, The kingdom of God class ends today, I got to go now. Do you have any last question for me?” What would be yours? just think about it...
I can tell you what it wasn’t for them. They didn’t ask “Jesus, when will you come to take me with you?” They actually asked Him when will He RESTORE the kingdom of God, here on this earth.
After listening to Him for about three years and forty days, they should have by now a good level of knowledge about it. So that last question is something worth to take a look at it in a deeper level, cause it is certainly not a 101 type of question.
“Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10 NKJV
Some months before that, Jesus was sited with them and told them this:
“I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings. Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” Luke 16:9-11 NIV
What we do here, during this era in ours jobs, families and ministries, matters profoundly to Him, and it will be rewarded for eternity, with true riches - the kingdom of God ones.
I will leave you with this one last thought as our today’s blog dessert or topping. Notice that the question from Jesus disciples mentioned that the eternal kingdom will be restored to a specific nation, God’s chosen one since the time of Abraham (God always fulfill His promises) ... The nation of Israel.
“And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.” Revelation 21:24-26 NKJV
