'So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs (man's side) and then closed up the place with flesh. ' Genesis 2:21 NIV (emphasis added)
Remember this bible passage? In Genesis chapter 1, God creates the mankind, male and female, and then in chapter 2 He brings Adam and later on Eva into life (Jeremiah 1:5; Ephesians 1:4). And you know those two sinned against him and that brought destruction into the whole mankind and creation, right?
Would you believe me if I tell you that God corrected this by creating man and wife all over again?
'Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. ' John 19:34 NIV
After Jesus died in the cross, giving up his live to save us all. The soldier pierced Jesus side (man side), and then the new women was born. Like a human birth with blood and water. He brought into live His suitable helper. Now the new creation without the sin consequences re-started.
'He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”). ' John 20:15-16 NIV
I always wondered why after Jesus rose from the dead, He first let him see himself to a women. Even though, Peter and another disciple went to the tomb, they went back without actually seeing him. Instead, Jesus decided that the first person that will rejoice with His presence will be Mary Magdalene. And when she saw him, she though He was a gardener. I see now how this scene looks like the garden of Eden.
The creation of the world took seven days, right? In the bible the number seven represents completeness. So, Jesus rose from the dead at the third day, and we are still in the middle of the creation process, until the last chapter of the Scriptures is fulfilled (Matthew 26:54).
God says in His word He do all things new (Rev 21:5), and that we should not dwell on the past (Isaiah 43:18). He says, He'll do a new creation and old things will come to pass (Isaiah 65:17; 2 Corinthians 5:17). But this time He is not wiping us with a flood, since He promised He will never destroy the earth again (Gen 9:11). But He will transform it.
From Jesus sacrifice to His Revelation, is about the new creation from God.
Eden Restored
'Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. ' Revelation 22:1-5 NIV
Going back to women creation in Genesis 2, God himself brought her to the man.
'Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” ' Genesis 2:22-23 NIV
And in the new creation, God will also bring his bride to him.
The new Jerusalem, The Bride of the Lamb
'One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. ' Revelation 21:9-10 NIV
So as you see, the whole bible is a love story. This is why we, as the bride of Jesus, shall rejoice in him and look forward to his return.
